My layout is a shelf only 12 inches wide. It occupies an area 6 feet by 12 feet. I run the trains using the MTH DCS command system.

Hi Matt:
The center rail carries the + current part of the DC circuit. The outer rails are both – negative current. This came about thanks to Lionel. If you take a piece of 2 rail track and make a reverse loop, their will be a short circuit when the rails touch. By making the outer rails the same polarity, there is no short circuit. The history channel has a show called, Trains Unlimited. There is a great episode called, Toy trains or model railroads. Check it out!
Thanks
Mario
Thanks. I sent you a message. check it out.
Thanks
Mario
ok, now I know what the center rail is for.. thanks.

Mario
Lol, at the beginning, the bell on the New Haven Brick is timed to the lights at the crossing!XD
Also, I have that Pennyslvania Railroad boxcar seen at 0:35.
Mario, thanks for the comment suggesting I check out this video. Again, it’s just amazing. You’ve squeezed so much detail into a small space…still can’t believe the room size is 6X12! I’m a H.O. scale fan and preparing to build my first ever layout after being away from the hobby for years. I know it won’t come close to looking as good as yours, but I’ll have fun with it no matter what. Thanks for the inspiration and again, awesome job. Definitely five star material & favorited.
how did you weather the tracks.
Nice layout!
what is weathering?
it is giving a train a idea that he has been through a lot of dirt and mud and rusting
Very Nice layout!
This is sweet. Gotta tell you, seeing this has, in part, prompted me to switch from HO to 3-rail O. Heckuva job.
Very nice!
I love the wicked awesome smoke effects on the MTH engines! Truly spectacular!
Love it
Thanks
Mario
I agree

Mario
I used black chalk and testors dull coat.
Thanks
Mario
Any application of chalk, paint, dirt or whatever it takes to make a model look worn or as if it has been outdoors.
Thanks

Thanks

sweet layout!
Mario, great job and good filming. The smoke from the dieselangine looks real.
