Model Railroad and Metra?
I used to ride the metra from university park to the end of the orange line. the first car, the engineer car, looked like the rest of the train and when I got into model railroading i was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a model railroad locomotive like this:

Or couldI install a DCC clip in a passenger car and use that like a locomotive?

I’ve looked around walthers.com, I’m not 100% sure on this, but I’m almost 95% sure that there aren’t any locomotives that are cars. If I were you, don’t always think walthers is the only one, try yahoo searches or google and you might find a METX passenger car/locomotive. I would imagine if you had proper training in electronics you could put a horn like all other passenger cars on Metra do.
You have the locomotive at one end of the train and on the other end you have what is called a cab car, the engineer operates the train from the locomotive when it is pulling the train and when the locomotive is pushing the train , he operates it from the cab car, which has an seat and all the controls to operate the train. This is called push-pull operation and is mainly in comuter service , as the trains do not have to be turned at each end of the run. As for installing a decoder in a passenger car and using it a power car would require you to put motor in the car and installing power trucks on it. Can be done , but a lot of work.
Actually, the Metra train from Univerity park is the Metra Electric line. I ride it every day. There is no locomotive at all because the cars are driven by the overhead power lines. Each car can be used as the “front” car where the engineer sits.
