a scale model train measures 25 cm and the scale ratio is 1:10 what is the length of the real train?

Actually Andy’s math is correct, the reason why the number is way off is that you didn’t give the units in your ratio. 250 cm is a little small for the real train. The real ratio is probably somewhere around 1cm:10m. That would give 250 meters, instead of 2.5.
25*10=250cm
or 2.5m
